Renationalise the railways

The Railway Pension Scheme is under threat.

Rail employers want to massively increase the contributions rail workers pay into your pension scheme and cut benefits.

Not only will this mean taking more money out of members' pockets, it could also threaten the future of the pension scheme as members drop out of the scheme because it is to expensive.

The rail unions have joined forces to fight this threat. We want fair contribution levels. And we want one single final salary pension scheme open to all members.

As part of the campaign there will be a joint Rail Union lobby of Parliament on Tuesday 9th May at 1pm.

Further briefing materials will be sent out shortly and be placed on the RMT website.

In the meantime put 9th May in your diary and write to your MP to say that you will wish to lobby him / her on 9th May.

Also don’t forget to ask your MP to sign this parliamentary motion.

Yours sincerely

Bob Crow

General Secretary, RMT
