DCH is organising a National Conference on Monday May 22 at the TUC, central London. The conference aims to unite all those in areas retaining council housing, those with ALMOs who don’t want two-stage privatisation and those facing transfer or ALMOs this year to win the ‘Fourth Option’.

Now that we have the attention of Ministers, a Labour Party policy review and we are winning more NO votes in local ballots it is crucial we pull our forces together to bring this campaign to a successful conclusion.

Organise a broad delegation of tenants, trade unionists and councillors from your area. Delegate fee: £12 (£5 individual tenants) + £2.50 lunch. Tenants should ask their council to sponsor a delegation so that we are all genuinely 'informed' and hear both sides of the debate and analysis of developments!

MPs Austin Mitchell and Michael Meacher along with trade union leaders Dave Prentis and Jack Dromey will join tenants and councillors on the opening platform. Workshops will cover the ‘Case against transfer’, ‘Future of ALMOs’, ‘Funding the Fourth Option’ and ‘Effective campaigning’. We are also planning an advice surgery, film show and forum.
