Save ESOL - save adult further education
Education should be free

Saturday 28th April 1pm
an afternoon of protest music and speeches
Meet opposite Homerton Hospital in the Park at 1pm - march to Hackney Town Hall - protest at Hackney town Hall with other colleges at 2pm.

Free - or at least affordable - English lessons for speakers of other langauages (ESOL) are under attack.

Local UCU activists are working with refugee and community organisations in the borough to build the event and raise the profile of the issue. Our Local MPs have been invited, Paul Mackney (joint General Secretary of the Unviersity and Colleges Union) is one of the speakers. The protest is as much against the massive cuts to adult and further education as it is against the imposition of a 'demand led' funding system for ESOL courses.

Three marches from across North London will converge on Hackney Town Hall for a 2pm rally. Readc more about it on the UCU website.

Downloadable publicity materials are attached.
