We have been enjoined by the courts, assaulted by thugs, charged by the militia, traduced by the press, frowned upon in public opinion, and deceived by politicians. But notwithstanding all this and all these, labor is today the most vital and potential power this planet has ever known, and its historic mission is as certain of ultimate realization as is the setting of the sun. |
NHS's 59th Birthday celebrationSubmitted by Janine on Sun, 01/07/2007 - 19:36.
05/07/2007 - 19:00 05/07/2007 - 21:00 Venue: Committee Room 14, House of Commons Dear Supporter Patricia Hewitt’s gone as Secretary of State for Health – but will Alan Johnson be any better? A lot will depend on how hard we campaign and lobby in defence of the NHS. Please circulate the attached leaflet as widely as you can. This is to advertise the NHS ‘birthday’ meeting on 5th July, and the giant ‘birthday card’ signing before it. MPs have been invited to come out of Parliament to sign the card, which carries the slogan "Many Happy Returns to an NHS publicly funded and free at the point of use" and "Stop privatisation and destruction of the NHS". Come to these events yourself if you possibly can, and bring friends and family with you. Gill George
