Many of us in Hackney there feel the need to do something to check the rise of the far rights. There are now 1,800 registered supporters of Searchlight/Hope not Hate in Hackney, and at the last count just a handful of BNP members. The BNP will not be an electoral threat in Hackney, but in Barking and Dagenham, in next May's elecitons, they could gain control of the council. That is how bad things are getting. On Saturday 7 November, the national Hope not Hate organisation are providing us with an opportunity to channel our anger at the BNP in a constructive way to help build an anti-BNP vote in the coming May elections. There will be a Hope not Hate coach from Hackney, to take people to campaign in Dagenham as part of a weekend of action. We will be putting out some localised targeted literature across 4 key wards in that area. There is a great new leaflet and it will be adapted to the local area, which will use the theme of remembrance Sunday theme to change peoples minds. The coach is free - will pick people up from outside Hackney Town Hall on Saturday 7th November at 9.30am. To register please visit the website below: http://action.hopenothate.org.uk/page/event/detail/novemberweekendofacti... Lunch will be provided and the coach will drop us back in the afternoon. Please sign up for the coach, and cascade this email on so that others do as well. Many thanks ( categories: against fascism )
