On Tuesday 20 October 2009, twelve people from different parts of Hackney’s diverse communities met to discuss and share their concerns.

Those present represented trade unionists, faith groups, BME community and migrant support groups as well as peace activists.

We decided to form an alliance: Hackney Unites a coalition for social justice, so that we could undertake some tasks that were dear to our hearts.
