With just two weeks to go to Celebrate Hackney, we are calling a final pre-meeting for speakers, stall holders and participants: Tuesday 1 June from 7pm to 8.30pm at Stoke Newington Methodist Church, 106 Stoke Newington High Street, N16 7NY

It is important that ALL speakers, in particular, attend this meeting so that we can discuss the format of the workshop and introduce you to your fellow workshop speakers. The workshops are only an hour long and we want to ensure that speakers do not take up all the time in the workshop and instead of simply speaking at the audience you ensure that you are engaging with the audience. The idea is to begin a discussion which we hope will continue in the months to come.

There are lots of little details we need to get tied down and with so many participants we want to get any misunderstandings and confusion cleared up before Saturday 5 June. So please make every effort to attend and if you are unable please send a substitute from your group - your participation on the Tuesday will help to ensure that the Saturday event runs smoothly.

The preparations for Celebrate Hackney are going well. Our tabloid is being distributed and posters are being seen up in shops. It is still very important that we get the maximum publicity for the day and, with just two weeks to go, one thing we need to do is to get visibility of the event on the web and in on-line forums.

If you have a blog, webpage or an email newsgroup, can you post a message to that (you can use the text from the sign-up page).

Can you also think of two or three people who you know would enjoy the day and then simply pick up the phone and invite them along?

You can also send an email to all your friends, colleagues, neighbours and family inviting them to come along.

We have put together a remarkable programme and we really want to ensure that the widest possible and most diverse representation Hackney is able to attend.
